Weird PS3 startup problem help

Hi people,

I have an 80gb fat PS3 and I'm having a weird problem with it.

I boot it up by pressing the touch button but I get no audio or visual output, so I have to keep my finger on the front power on button until it shuts down. I then have to press it again and it works fine there after. It never comes on the first time for some reason?

Has anyone else had this before?

If you hold down the button the image output is reset, when it boots up is it in standard 576i resolution?
