getting a weird glitch when i start my PC, or even restart it.

when i run it on, it kicks into life, fans spi, pump starts etc then it just dies, small pause of silence then it kicks into life again and carries on to POST and load windows etc.

its an Enermax Liberty 620watt
going into an Asus P5B deluxe ( spec in sig)

any suggestions ?

Rick

I've already had a dodgy Enermax Liberty 620watt replaced so I'd suspect that first, only thing I can reccomend to trying a different PSU, you could try unplugging non essentail components (cd-rom/hardrive etc) in computer one by one and try turning on the computer in between doing that and this if it solves the problem at any point, it could be a componet problem but I doubt it.

i will try that soon,

when i turn it on i can hear 2 clicks ( like the noise sparks make ) i might get onto enermax about it.

everything else is fine and dandy ( new build by the way )

Its the mobo that does that.

Pretty much every P5B Deluxe does the dual reboot thing, settings the chipset strap.

Nowt you can do about it really, you can update to the latest BIOS but then its 50/50 to whether it will restart properly :D

just updated the bios. didn't help.

theres been one time today that i started it cold and it went straight in.

its just REALLY off putting. cant help but think that its doing damage.

Can't be bothered to make a new thread but I've got to press the power button twice on my PC to get it to start. The first time I press it nothing happens, it's as if there's no power going to the PC but it starts without fail on the second press. I've got a Corsair HX520 and didn't have the problem, if it's even classed as a problem, with my old Zalman PSU.

Are you turning on the mains plug just before you try turning on the PC?

My old Antec PSU started to do this. Eventually I couldn't get it to turn on at all. Took it apart and found some fried components inside. :( Went and bought a decent OCZ PSU and it starts first time now. :)

So it may be giving up the ghost...

you know whats even more weird than the problem its self.... the fact that it has just stopped doing it now. ! havnt changed anything either.
this board is a sod though, specially the IDE set up !
