Weird PSU/Shutdown question

I have had my new pc from OcUK for a week now and when I shut the pc down you would hear a clicking noise (which I think was the hard drives/mobo shutting down?) screen would go off BUT the fan (think PSU fan) would stay on for like 10-20 seconds after.

Now for no reason (I haven't changed any settings) the fan is going straight off.

I am just worried incase this is a fault or something dodgy is happening as I haven't changed any settings to make this happen.

The PSU is a Enermax Liberty 620, the mobo is Asus P5N32-SLi Premium WiFi (Socket 775), cpu is Intel core duo 6600, gfx is 7950gx2, 1x 74g raptor and 2x 150gig maxtor hdd's.

If anyone can advise me id be very grateful.

Cheers

so now its going off like a normal system would do? is that right?

some of the enermax 620w were reported to be faulty....however if its working fine, then see how it goes, any concerns you may want to try and get to the bottom of the prob :)

The Enermax's fans run for a while until the temp inside the PSU returns to a lower lvl.

I found mine kept spinning slowly even hours after the PC was "off".
I would expect that the temp in your room has gone down a little and/or not playing games just before shutdown therefore the PSU temp is lower - Therefore fan goes off quickly.

It's a design feature of the Enermaxes - RTFM. ;)

Thanks for the replies

I knew it had a temp monitor because I have owned previous PSU's from Enermax with the same feature they they always stayed on for 10+ mins after shut down.

I noticed it last night when I shut down and I had been using the pc for a few hours playing games so would have thought the temp would have been higher.

I know its a stupid thing, but don't really wanna keep a faulty PSU or incase it gives me problems in the future.

Cheers

As long as the voltages are stable and you are not noticing any odd events - I would say the PSU is fine. :)

It is a little bit of a gimmick. Yes - I think it's good that it cools the PSU for a while after shutdown - But I don't think its required.

Ok the voltages are as follow, but I have no idea if this is right or not as it doesnt say in the manual:

Vcore voltage = 1.35v
3.3V voltage = 3.36v
5V = 5.05v
12v = 11.95v

Cheers in advance
