My PC this week has started making a very strange noise. It's not very loud, but there is like a pulsing, rattle/vibration sound? I checked if anything was loose, but can't see any obvious culprit?

Any ideas?

Probably case resonance caused by one of the fans or maybe several interacting together. If it still happens with the case open then it should be easy enough to check by stopping individual fans temporarily to work out which.

I have this sometimes, with me its the side panels of the case resonating. Next time it happens try holding both panels and see if it stops. I had to move my case slightly away from the side of my desk to stop it.

EDIT: Also, your sig is too big, best change it before a mod comes along! Check the FAQ for more info.

Mine resonates when I fully close the drawer on the desk the PC is placed.

All the suggestions above are good pointers & I'll add, maybe check if all the screws are on tightly.

Could be a hard drive pushing some vibrations through the case. Could even be a cable touching something that vibrates and then the case.

The two things that occured to me. My old hdd did this really badly when it started to die (you could hear the vibrations downstairs ).
