Hi all

I've got this weird fancy column radiator in the kitchen and want to fit a trv to it, however I cannot figure out the connections to the rad as I've never seen this type before.

There appears to be a 15mm inlet for the pipe at the bottom, converting to 22mm outlet? But I can't see how the tail connects to the bottom of the radiator, as there's no visible way to screw it in, only the nut at the top that squeezes down onto the valve.

Has anyone seen this and can advise what parts I need please? Thank you.

Its not so simple with straight TRV`s, as 3/4" connections are not as common.
Pretty sure Pegler do one but you need to by the thermostatic part separately.
As as been said, remove the tail as well, then you can use pretty much any straight TRV.

Ah ok thanks I have one of those somewhere. But when you say any TRV, the tail looks like 22mm x 3/4 inch, whereas all the TRVs I can find screw into 1/2 inch?

Its a 3/4 nut but it attaches to a 1/2 inch BSP thread which will the the same as the trv. You just need to remove the valve and the tail piece and then it will make sense. I wouldn’t try and source a 3/4 nut trv they will be thin on the ground and probably quite expensive.
