Hey everyone, could really use some help on a really weird issue since changing my PC case.

Seemingly since I moved all my parts into their new home I have started to encounter a random screen flicker, sometimes shortly after Windows boots or sometimes a little while after. It is really hard to describe but its like it gets dimmer and brighter very quickly?

No idea what might be causing this, any ideas?

Could be the cable to monitor. You could buy another cable. Or your should check the cable for looseness.

Also your monitor, has the screen settings have got any settings set to auto? Sometimes some monitors respond to light etc.

Has v sync been set in the screen settings? I find having it on helps with flicker issues. Check in NVIDIA settings? Your video driver would have reset perhaps?

Lastly check if your GTX 1070 is seated correctly, and is true in the PCI-express slot.

This could sound like the GPU needs re-seating or just the contacts checking that go into the MOBO. And as above I would check the cables or try different cables.

If that doesn't work try using a different output form the GPU rather than the one you are using. So if you are using DVI, Try DP, HDMI etc. And also try unisntalling the GPU and running of the MOBO graphics to see if this causes screen flicker as well.

Its so weird that it is so intermittent, sometime after boot the screen flickers/dims slightly for a few mins then is fine for the rest of the day. I would have thought if it was something not connected right it would happen all the time?

Will give some of these things a try though, thanks.

Yep if it was a connection I would have thought it would be consistent, but this is a computer here, where the most strangest of things happen ahaha.

Does it ever flicker before loading windows? Could also be a driver issue?

And have you tried different cables from the GPU to the monitor?
