I have an old Windows 7 laptop and it's got an annoying problem of after a while, the left side of the taskbar becomes unresponsive (usually after gaming). I close an app like spotify but it's taskbar icon stays there. Right clicking on the icon or the taskbar itself doesn't bring anything up. Clicking the start button doesn't bring the start menu up.
I thought I had fixed it by updating the graphics drivers to the latest (Windows Update had installed an 'optional' graphics driver with Vista in its description) but a few days later it has started doing it again.
Any ideas?
