Hi, hopeing someone can tell me whats going on with my temps

I have got a Q6600 and installed a Zalman CNPS9700-NT which reduced my cpu temp to 35oc idle.

but if I put the computer in sleep mode and wake it up after 10 mins my temp readings show 20 oc idle.

Underfull load the temp is 35 and settles back down to 20 or 21 ish once idle again.

Why the sudden drop in temp, are the readings correct??

I hope someone can help

Many thanks

I'm using speed fan and the abit included software, they both read the same.

Its really weird my system has run for weeks at 35 idle and 48 underload.

This only happens when I put the computer in sleep mode (even for 15 sec)
then wake it up and check temps and its 20 idle 35 underload.

Its gotta be a software error right, it cant drop temps that quickly surely?

Hi

Thanks for your reply. I checked the temps using core temp (I'm on Vista 64 so I had to F8 to start windows without driver signings)

But you were right, coretemp is way more accurate.

both speed fan and the abit software gave false readings after the PC has been to sleep

Start up temps

Q1 34
Q2 33
Q3 27
Q4 31

as read by coretemp

abit and speed fan gave a reading of 37

Temps after PC had been to sleep

Q1 32
Q2 32
Q3 25
Q4 28

abit and speedfan gave a reading of 20 !!!

I would be interested if this is a common problem or is it just Abit motherboards?

Cheers
