I was in Windows using Bootcamp playing CS 1.6 when all of a sudden the Macbook shut down and would start up again, then it went dead and wouldn't even power up for a sec or two like it was doing before switching off.

I then took out the battery and it worked again luckily. But Windows will not load up so gonna see what the problem is, anyone ever had a problem like this? Could it be because i was playing a game and couldn't handle it?

sounds like windows had a panic and decided to to do an emergency shut down.

can you get into windows safe mode?

Would this stop the Macbook from powering up again? I've got it back into Windows, and all seems ok. Was a bit worried when it happened, as it's never happened before, and when it wouldn't power up or it would but switch off again , i didn't have a clue why.

windows on my MBP just craps itself all the time in windows, BSOD all the time if i end anything using alt+f4 and it takes about 3 goes to get it to boot up so I can use it most times :/

Gonna have to reinstall windows with the new boot camp but I just dont wanna do it all again as you cant backup your current install as norton ghost and acronis wont work with the disk drive :/

Never had a single problem until this happened, and it wouldn't boot at all, was like it was dead  . Seems fine now :D .

There's your problem mate. :p

agreed, i used to use bootcamp and parallels and one day i boot up in windows and get repeated bsods and within 5 mins it was all deleted and the disk restored to osx partition only. Don't ever want windows near me again.

Make sure you have the latest firmware for your MacBook, as well as the latest bootcamp version (so you can burn off the latest driver CD) :)

Problem was likely down to a hardware conflict or driver issue. Makes sense, given that a Mac isn't what Windows is generally used to running on.

yeah prob just a driver issue, did you have the latest boot camp installed?

No but it's worked fine for weeks playing CS on it, everythings fine now, need to download new bootcamp.

Sounds like a heat issue. The MacBooks are very prone to this, especially when you're gaming. The fact that it didn't boot up until you took the battery out pretty much rules out something solely caused by Windows/ Bootcamp & in this case I would instantly suspect overheating.

It's been ever since and i've been playing games on it a lot, most likely was a heat issue but if i remember correctly i hadn't been playing for long so it wasn't too hot.

did you block the vents? sometimes mine gets gotter than usual when i use it in bed! hehe lazy me

ummn, the new intel mac range is x86, as every PC out there.

Windows is the problem, always has been, always will be.
