Weird trusted docs issue

Hi any advice?
Mrs laptop was refusing to open word docs that weren't created locally, downloaded uni docs etc.

Figured out that the trusted locations were limited to a couple of app data folders, so to save messing I just added a new trusted location, the whole of c drive.

Is this a bit hasty perhaps insecure, is there a better way to tackle this issue?

Undo your changes to the locations section, and then click the Protected View tab:

Untick as needed. Basically you were close, but not close enough
