Weird USB connector

Hi there,

Wonder if someone with more expertise than me can advise me.

I have an old-ish case with 2 front USB ports, each usb port has its own set of 4 individual wires (rather than the now standard 9-pin connector for both ports) - GND1, DATA+1, DATA-1, and VCC1 for one of them, and the same except 2's instead of 1's for the other one. I also have an Asus P4B motherboard with a USB connector on it, with the following individual connectors:

1. USB POWER
2. USBP2-
3. USBP2+
4. GND
5. NC

6. USB POWER
7. USBP3-
8. USBP3+
9. GND

Can I therefore match these up so GND1 goes on GND; DATA+1 goes on USBP2+; DATA-1 goes on USBP2-; and VCC1 goes on USB POWER (and obviously do the same with the 4 pins for the other USB port)? Is VCC the equivalent of USB POWER? Does it matter that nothing is going to be plugged onto the NC connector?

Or will this just not work at all?

Thanks in advance
