Weird USB issue

Hi all,

Since about a week or so ago, I've been having some strange issues with my computer. At times it will refuse to shut down, other times it will fail to recognise some USB devices etc.

Well tonight I decided to have a go at fixing the issue, so I went to uninstall my peripherals and reinstall them all. The problem is, my headset, which is the most recent thing I installed, and I suspect the cause of most of these problems, will not install (it shows as an unrecognised device, but works), but when I try to disable it, it crashes my device manager.

It won't let me uninstall the drivers, or the configuration software for the headset. It just crashes whenever I try.

I've tried installing it in safe mode, and it worked, and my computer turned off, but since then, it has gone back to an unrecoginsed device, and won't install again.

As well as this, I tried using my Xbox controller to play some games earlier, which I've done mulitple times, and it refused to recognise my controller, then refused to install the drivers.

Any suggestions? Cheers.

Have you tried uninstalling the driver with a third party software?

(don't know if were allowed to recommend any here. Google lists many)
