Weird USB issues

Hi guys,

Having some weird issues with my PC recently. A number of my USB ports don't seem to be having issues and it seems to mainly be the ones directly on the motherboard.
When I connect a number of known working devices, they won't work (external hard drives and USB sticks don't show up in This PC, and my Astro A50 transmitter won't show up in my sound devices).
They do however show up in device manager. Some devices like the A50 say to upgrade drivers, but even when I do this manually, they still show that flag in device manager.
My USB hubs are also having issues.

While the on-motherboard USB ports are the main culprit, I have seen intermittent issues with the case ones (connecgted to motherboard via the headers). Especially my A50s have issues on that.

This sounds like a Windows/software issue to me rather than hardware, although perhaps my mobo is failing.

Any ideas gents, perhaps I just need to do a clean Windows 10 install, but see what other options are available.

Have you tried reinstalling your motherboard drivers? I could be wrong but it sounds like a driver issue to me.

Yeh I went on to the Gigabyte website and some of the drivers only went up to Win 8 and when I tried installing it said the PC didn't meet minimum requirements :(

That maybe your problem then if you're on Windows 10 for example and there's no compatible drivers. You could try a fresh install or roll back the driver.

Yeh thing is it used to work so not sure what the issue is. Will try a fresh install.
