Weird VAIO problem

Few years old Lappy, go to turn it on and it boots to the VAIO sign and then nothing! Not a bean!

Doesn't even seem to post which is weird! What I mean is I don't even get the option to hit any of the F keys or delete to enter the bios!

This has happened out of the blue.

Anyone know what's going on and could offer advice?

Have you tried taking the battery out and letting it sit for a while (my Sony took a week to completely discharge) then giving it a go?

Its F2 for the bios on a sony i think, it could be the hard drive making it hang on post, try taking that out and see what happens.

Took the battery out but didn't discharge it. Perhaps i should try that.

Yeah, tried F2. didnt work - cant get into bios
