Weird whirling noise - 4690

Hi guys,

I recently replaced the thermal paste on my 4690 and now after a couple of days of normal use the heatsink is making some weird whirling noises... the paste was cheap, I don't know if this makes a difference? It was fine for a day or two.

Temperatures are normal even when idle.

Any ideas?

Something catching on the fan? Disturbed any cables?

as above, make sure nothing is catching on the fan like the fan power cable or something.

are you sure its the cpu fan making the noise? what cpu cooler are you using?

thermal paste will only effect stability if not applied correctly and temps

Yeah it could be the classic "Wires came out and are hitting the fan" stock cooler problem.
