I remember some time ago the wifes laptop had a virus on it. The one that cleans out the start menu and hides all the folders and stuff. I managed to clean that up, pretty sure anyway, and the laptop has been performing fine, until today, when I went to add new user to the laptop (a friend needs to borrow it).
I created the user through control panel and then logged on with that user. I got an immediate warning:
C:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer or on a network. Check to to make sure the disk is properly inserted.
in addition, the user folder is not under C:\users. I assume it is still being hidden by the previous virus but all scans and checks show no virus anymore.
Any ideas?
