Weird XBMC issue

Hi all,

Let me explain my setup.

xbmc runs on WHS2011 machine. I have a user setup and it auto boots into xbmc. The PC is connected via HDMI to a Denon amp and from there into the tv.

I have a Logitech Harmony 650 remote with a profile setup for xbmc as per the instructions that I have read on here or the FLIRC forums - I have a FLIRC receiver connected.

It works well, however, when I switch back to XBMC (i.e. turn on the amp and switch inputs) I get a blank screen, and I have either to VNC into the HTPC and restart xbmc, or just.reboot it. XBMC is still running, but it's just not responding or displaying anything other than a blank screen for some reason.

So that's my frustration at the moment. Any clues / ideas?

I have a problem with my set up and an AV amp. If I log onto my HTPC remotely and then take control of the HTPC locally I lose sound, I either have to re-boot or mess about physically unplugging then re-plugging in the HDMI cables, I’ve put it down to a HDMI hand shake issue (and can’t for the life of me solve it) maybe your problem is something similar

Yes it's almost certainly due to handshake issues. I have similar problems when plugging my PC into my TV via HDMI.

Not sure theres any easy way around that other than by using Component video instead.

Yeah sounds like a handshakIng issue you're right. I need to see if there's anything I can rig to fix this.
