My 360 pro died yesterday, distorted graphics, then ring of death and now just says "no signal" all the time but doesn't give any red light errors. Tried 3 different cables but all the same problem... any ideas? It's nearly 2 years old so well out of warranty.

This was compounded when today something happened with my internet. No idea what it was but at the same time my PC (cabled), my sons PC (wi-fi) and my Xbox 360 elite (cabled) all lost internet connection at same time. Nothing wrong with router or cable modem.... and it made my 360 elite turn off and give 3 red lights! I'll also add it had only been switched on for about 5 mins at that time.

Everything was sorted with a reboot of everything but had me worried for a second, thought I'd lost both 360's in the space of 24 hours!

Also I can't think of any reason that the internet connection would make my 360 shutdown and give 3 red lights. It's been working perfectly for past 2 hours and it's not so much as skipped a beat in the last 12 months.

Not sure about the power drop cause, but if a 360 does suddenly lose power it can occasionally RROD on the next bootup and, as you proved, scare the bejeezus out of the owner!

I got 3RROD due to a power surge. Powered off at the socket and its been fine ever since. Im talking 12 months+ ago now and the machine hasnt skipped a beat

I've had the first error before, it's something to do with the graphics chip breaking.

I did the X clamp fix (google it plenty of guides and fairly straight forward) and that fixed it for a while...until the DVD drive went.

You get a 3 year warranty on all xboxes for red rings...hopefully it won't accidentally red ring...if you catch my drift ;)

RROD, E74 graphics corruption and no-video output are all generally related. In your case it is the same fault manifesting itself in different ways.

Do the oven bake and x-clamp fix. It may only last a month, it may be still going strong a year later. It's cheap and easy to do so you don't have a lot to lose :)
