I Rang XBox support today about my faulty Play & Charge Kit.

The guy I spoke to seemed to be fairly new. After putting me on hold for a bit (I assume he was asking a collegue what to do) he told me to send my stuff to XBox with a Ref No. that he gave me and they would test it and either send it back or replace it. Fantastic.

This was earlier today and I obvioulsy haven't posted it yet but I just got this e-mail (20:48)

The reference number hasn't been entered in the correct format. Reference numbers begin with two letters followed by nine numbers and end with two letters.

Am I right to be suspicious of this e-mail or what? Why is the tracking number in the wrong format?

The tracking thing is quite normal with royal mail, especially if it's only recent. The tracking usually works by the afternoon tomorrow, or maybe after you get your package.

Off the top of my head, I think MS basically send you out a new one, while you send out your faulty one, so it's all right... as long as the item is actually faulty.

It just seems weird that they sent it to me within hours without me ever sending my knacked one in.

Oh well, saves me buyin a box to send it in, good on ya MS.
