Hey guys,
right, I just bought a new WD 320Gb SATA HDD, and have been playing around all day to get things working on it. Basically, by lunch time today, I had a copy of XP installed on one partition, Vista on another, and a copy of Ubuntu Linux on the third.
However, then things started to go wrong... when I booted back in to XP and ran windows update, the whole system crashed and wouldn't do anything. I tried repairing the install, but that didn't work.
Eventually, I re-formatted the whole HDD and re-installed XP, but I still get the same problem. However, it now does it after about 20 seconds after logging in, regardless of what is being done (i.e. not just with windows update).
I have re-installed vista on another partition, which is working fine, but this XP thing is really got me stumped!
Any ideas?
Cheers!
