I was just playing some Civ and got up to change my headphone batteries. When I sat back down a few minutes later, the instant I turned my headphones on my PC froze and needed a reboot.

This is probably a really dumb question but is this more than coincidence... :o

If they use a USB interface its possible when you turned them on again the USB device was redetected/reinitialize at a bad time and/or the software for them did something if its wireless as I'm assuming from the mention of batteries then the software would be detecting when the headphones were/weren't connected and running some code when they changed state.

Hmm well here's the wrinkle in the theory... the transmitter unit (or whatever you call it) for the 'phones doesn't require any software, it just listens for audio being played and keeps transmitting as long as there's sound coming from the PC. Civ was running the whole time so it was transmitting right up until the crash. Cheers anyway Rroff. :)

I have noticed the sound can be a bit crackly at times, might just be when loading though.
