Weirdness with the C3

My wife has a C3 and i am pretty sure the battery is on its way out. Basically it doesnt start on first key turn if its been standing a while. It will start but usually requires a few goes. When it starts the clock has reset and the radio stations lost.

I assume thats the battery gone ? It dirves ok and after a drive it will start first time.

Here is the weirdness - my wife used it last night and when she went to open the car from the inside with the handle it wouldnt open, the windows went down on the electrics ok and she opened it from the outside handle. Clearly i said she was mad ;) but it happened to me today when i took the car for a drive to see if it woul happen. Could this be related to the battery ?

Car is booked in tomms for some brake work and a battery check but would like advise if it all seems battery related - as you may be able to tell i know nothing about the electrics in a car !!!
 
the faults you describe could be attributed to a dieing battery especially at this time of year. or loose/dirty contacts on either the battery or bsi unit. as regards the door handle, didnt watchdog have a report about citreons locking there owners in ? (vague memory of it) and citreon denying it at first, then it snowballed (no pun intended).
might be worth doing a search.
