Hey guys.

I am going to be selling my car soon and after 10 years of driving I will be making a switch to a motorbike for all year round riding. I will be taking my CBT next weekend and it shouldn't be long after that that I will be buying my first bike.

I am obviously going to purchase some safety gear and I have been looking at the Weise stuff, more specifically the Weise Onyx jacket and trousers. Can anyone recommend buying Weise gear? Is it good quality and safe?

Also while I am here, I was looking at the Scorpion Exo 1000 helmet. Is that brand any good?

Cheers.

Got a Weise leather jacket and it's been great the three years I've owned it. Have no experience with their textile stuff though.

yes they are good, last for years and dont leak ect

something like the weise laguna, with the armour and removable lining and weise nrg textile trousers

I've got a Weise textile winter jacket and the best recommendation I can give is I'd happily buy another from them.

Have a set of weise textiles, warm no leaks even in torrential rain. Highly recommended. I don't know what the entry level stuff is like, but if its anything like the midrange stuff then very good.

I like mine too. For some reason the jacket and trousers came with different zips so they wouldn't fasten together. Weise sent me a strip of fabric with appropriate zips on both sides so now all is well.

I'm not convinced it'll look after me particularly well when I fall off, but it might do.

Weise are alright, like anything waterproof tho after awhile they will start to feel damp underneath when riding for a while in the wet.

Weise is a company owned and run by fowlers in bristol

Nope, they're definitely not bust as I spoke to them earlier. I'm off down there after work to get some Rev It waterproofs.

My brother bought a set of Weise textiles and got some boots thrown in for free. He absolutely detests it all, they leak badly, and after a 10mph off in ice the trousers tore open pretty easily.
The trousers leak at the crotch and various other places, the boots were the worst though, sole came apart in less than 2 years of use, he glued it back on to try and get more life from them, but they just keep leaking.

Avoid is my advice.
