Well 1 year after quitting WoW...

I decided to sell my old account.

Managed to get $102 dollars for it.

Probably something like 3000hrs spent on that account... i doubt that converts into a good hourly rate of earnings ! lol .

The site that bought it are now trying to sell it for $699, yowsers!

Guess ill just play a bit of WAR occasionally, but definately concentrate on gaming with some single player games for a while too.

Nice to get 50 quid back after the many hours the game gave me though. I did enjoy it for a long time, but its no longer for me

Wonder what id get for mine lol... not a lot, only one char at 70 and thats a priest of all things! lots of 60-62's though. think ill keep it, just ine case the urge takes me one day, although with recruit a friend.....

I plugged my WoW character details into a website that buys and sells them. I've got a 7/8 T6 Mage, lots of cash, lots of other epiced out level 70s and it offered me £174. I thought 'stuff that' for the amount of time I've invested. Wonder what they'd have flogged it on for.

Well, how else are you going to make all your time spent on a computer game profitable or worthwhile retrospectively?

Well I don't really play anymore, but if I did start playing again I have a massive springboard back into it, instead of levelling all the way up from scratch. The fee just didn't cover the time value it would take me to get back to the same position.

You'd probably get a lot more if you'd have sold it 6 months ago. With WotLK coming up accounts probably go pretty cheap now.

@OP: Where did you sell it out of interest?

£55, dude that sucks >.< Im guessing it was IGE you sold it to? Just hope you never want to go back unless you want to be an A hole and just tell Blizzard it got hacked and get it back that way

I'm thinking of selling my account atm, 5/8 T6 with Thunderfury and loads of other epics. Not sure if it's worth it though

Just depends if my mates stick with WAR or decide to return...

i got offered $165 for my account 4 lvl 70s hunter s1/mage tier4/5 equivelent raid gear/ war S3/2 rogue S2. for all my time ive put in it i would never sell it that low even tho ive stoped playing it now.

Just sold it to accounts.com they gave pretty decent service to be honest.

i didnt really value the account that high myself. I dont wanna play any more so didnt want any hassle of selling on forum or trade sites.

my mate had sold his to them last week, the money isnt a great deal but its better than nothin.

My account had 2 lvl 70s on. 1 mage with Kara/Gruul epics, and the rogue with lvl 70 instance kinda stuff.

When i last logged on a lad from my old guild reckoned that they are selling quite well now because people want to buy an account for the expansion, but i woulda thought it would be the other way round

TBH I can't see the point in buying a character pre-levelled up. For me it's the point of the game, and although I've never played MMORPG's, I've quit the likes of BF2 when I've hit the ceiling with unlocks, ranks and awards, and I'm not far off hitting that point with COD4 as well.

The buyers are probably people who previously sold their accounts and now want to play again!
