after hearing nothing but praise at work all day today for them i popped into game on my way home tonight,

I came out with,

1 x xbox 360 premium
1 plug/play charger thingy

2x wireless controllers

all the associated gubbins

games wise

PGR2
Saints Row
arcade unplugged

and samuria warriors 2

first impressions quite good not too keen on PGR3 but saints row is pretty decent currently setup on my living room tv atm but going on the hd in the bedroom tommorow, will i notice a big difference in quality?

any pointers for a newb to the 360?

oh well thats the conroe money spent anyway so i better enjoy it :)

PGR2 or 3? I assume you got the Xbox360 version (PGR3).
If so, you've chosen quite wisely, I'd definitely recommend Test Drive Unlimited, Dead Rising, Burnout Revenge and Tomb Raider Legend.

Oh, you'll notice a huge difference in graphics quality with HD.

I personally think Burnout Revenge is the best game on the console and I know many others here think the same. If you are gaming on Xbox Live then it's a must! I've not had that much fun in years.

Dead Rising is excellent, though a lot more difficult than you would expect from a game of its type.
TDU is very good, though I found the environment rather dull, but you can't help but be impressed by the sheer scale. Much like Just Cause it is rather breath taking.

If I could recommend one game it would be Burnout Revenge, but it MUST be played on Xbox Live! If you want a single player game then I'd say Tomb Raider for a platformer or Oblivion for hours and hours of joyous, wide-ranging gameplay.

Definitely get Dead Rising. A fantastic game. I've enjoyed every minute of it but I know a few mates who didn't like it at first. Told them to keep at it and now both of them can't stop talking about it.

Test Drive Unlimited is a fantastic game as well. Although the online part was slightly buggered until recently. Things are getting a bit better recently thou.

Can't comment on Burnout revenge since I haven't played it although going to get a copy of ebay soonish.

Top Spin 2 from my brief play through looks good. Condemned is really good as well and can be had for £18 now as well.

I loved TDU for 38hours, unfortunately the urge to trawl all over the island isn't there anymore after 'the bug'. If I get a few hours here and there I might play it some more.
