As per my previous thread about the Focus ST which I will be trading my old vehicle towards!

The damn thing has started to make a rattle sound from the engine area, sounds like its under the dash in the car. Only happens when the car is at idle rpm and goes almost immediately after putting your foot on the go faster pedal.

If i can sort it myself just have to hope the garage dont notice it when I get the car valued on saturday. Car is a Focus 1.6 TDCI (MK2 05 plate)

find out whats rattling and then stop it rattling?

Difficult to diagnose as the rattle is only audible from inside the car, but it sounds like a metal rattle.

Wonder if its the exhaust heatshield as thats a fairly common issue, just no idea where it is at the front of the front of the car.

I've traded in cars before with a lot more than a rattle and whoever "test drove" them before handover either didn't notice or didn't care.

This rattle is very noticable though, you'd have to be deaf to not hear it. As it appears to come from the front of the car, im going to take a guess thats it the cat heat shield causing the rattle.

Ahhh Rattles, My Fiesta rattles/ Buzzes, The clock saround vibrates at idle/ low speed and drives me bokers, I tried to tighten it but was as tight as a tamborine skin, ended up sticking a bit of credit card in stoped, plus you cant see it
