Change the X1950 Pro to an XT, it's probably the most important bang:buck ratio there, especially for a 'mere' £30 in your spec.

Change the cooler to a Tuniq.

Change the Ram to some the Crucial Anniversary Ram or Some Cellshock stuff.

Hard Drive wise, I'd change it to a Seagate or Samsung. The price doesn't warrant the small speed increase imo.

Other than that, that's one hell of a set up :)

Ive changed the Graphics Card and the Ram. Changed in first post.

Im keeping the Hard Drive because well pretty much from the start i have always wanted a Raptor lol. Bit more money but im willing to pay that. :)

The Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 i would also like to keep because I have heard good things about it.

Hows that 2/4 :). Thank you

Oh lol no one seems to like Crucial :( isn't the Memory from them very good?

Ive metioned that Ram on here before and theirs like 2 people saying its quality Ram then the rest saying change it lol :(:)

Buy a standard 7200rpm first as you get far better value for money, if you feel the need for faster OS performance you can always add a raptor later.

You can buy 640GB for the same price as one 150GB raptor.

Don't get me wrong, Crucial is very good Ram it's just for the Crucial Anniversary Edition are better, very good overclockers :D

Check my thread in the Memory forum :)

Do you plan on overclocking at all? If so, definitely get the Tuniq, read some reviews, it's quiet and kick ass!

Hard drive, entirely your choice but you could get 800GB of Samsung spintpoints for the same price without much peformance loss. These drives also come with 3 years warranty and are very quiet :)

2 of any of the first few drives on here:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=14&sortby=nameAsc&subid=768&mfrid=43

in RAID0 would be FAR better than a raptor, loads more disc space, loads less heat and noise not to mention quite likely to be more reliable, tho WD seem more reliable of late. Not to mention the performance would be way faster... not sure why people why raptors, when for the same money you could get way mroe space and performance by buying multiple seagate 7200.10s.

I agree with almost all the points Shadow made, but a little thought.

Keep the 1950 PRO, and save that money for summer when DX10 is gonna be the norm, sell the pro then grab the G80 OR R600. Depends on what the OP wants to do though.

If you want to keep the card a year, the XT is the better idea, if you want to change to DX 10 later in the year then I say do what I am going to, and just buy the cheapest Pro card you can get your hands on.

Yes i was thinking about the Crucial Anniversary Edition but what made me choose the 6400 stuff is it will take a lot less to overclock 6400 Memory which is bound to cause less heat if you see. :) would that be round about right?

Yes i will be overclocking quite a bit, my aim is try to get the E6600 running at 3.4 ghz 24/7 i would be very pleased with that. :)

I will take a look at the reviews of the Tiniq see what i think.

Like i said Raptors ive always wanted one, i do have a 200GB hard drive in the PC im using at the moment. :)

Dark Angel, remember £30 extra gets you 12 Pixel shaders and higher clock speeds, almost a whopping 20-30% increase in speed going upon my in depth research. Going upon that Analogy he should go with a E6300 as newer chips are due, along with a better price tag.

Stickroad, If you plan on taking the E6600 that far, it would be madness to dismiss the Tuniq! At 3.4ghz mark, Cellshock and Crucial anniversary's won't have much problems getting there :)

Hmmm, perhaps you have a point well made then.

*EDIT*

But, thinking about it further, then you are only around 100 from a GTS... I couldnt justify spending that much and only being shy 100 from an 8800GTS... I (personally) would rather get the cheapest card now, and then see what happens in 4 months time then get a card...

Still, its up to the OP :)

I am now seriously thinking about getting the Tuniq Tower but the reviews about the noise is worrying me a bit.

Yea i know its petty but im like that :)

So what else have you got up your sleeve to convince me to buy this fantastic Cpu Cooler + Heatsink? :)

Nothing really to convince you other than you can overclock beautifully with it... so many people here rave on about them, they are considered by any to be the best CPU coolers. Especially given the price.

It isn't noisy, the fan knocked down is meant to be really quiet! If noise becomes an Issue you can replace the fan :)

Noctua fans are meant to awesome with this set up. I'm seriously considering on picking one up myself!

Ok i have just looked at some reviews and it sounds promising, one more thing though:

Stupid question but hey im asking it, its a pretty big cooler and probably weighs a bit too, because it is pretty large how good are the mounts?

I dont want it like drooping down :( or anything?

Would go with this fanless PSU: Yesico FL-550ATX Fanless 550W PSU
Never come across it.

Corsair is in essence a Seasonic with higher quality components and a fantastic 5 year warranty.

He's made a great choice.

Why on earth would he want a fanless PSU on a gaming rig?

Just mount it on properly and all will be fine. Never heard any stories of it breaking the mobo in half and melting the side panel, thus setting the house on fire and repeating the flame process throughout the neighbour hood ;)

Nothing short of an awesome set up, enjoy it :)

Just to throw in some more money saving tips:

Save £140 by getting an E6300 and an Asus P5B (Deluxe) motherboard, for very little peformance difference once overclocked :)
