Wembley, the home of American football

Brilliant, apart from the Cup/league finals Wembley is hardly used. (for sporting requirements)

The national team is boring as hell, NFL is a great game which is growing in popularity in the UK.

I'm all for it tbh - £3m wow that is some damn good revenue! Shame I never had the chance to play as a kid, would have loved to give it a try!

American Football is a horrendously boring sport, after the initial interest due to the novelty I can't see a London franchise sustaining particularly big crowds.

The NFL season only runs from September to January (or from August if you include pre season).

And if you adopt a stance of only World Cup/Euro qualifiers being at Wembley and friendlies are played at other stadiums then it seems pretty easy to accomodate.

Over that period the only England games that ever get scheduled are:
A friendly in August (if at home you can rotate to other stadiums instead of a half full Wembley)
2 games in September (1 home - 1 away. These fixtures are always before the NFL season starts so no disruption)
2 games in October (1 home - 1 away, usually both competitive internationals so 1 game will need to be at Wembley)
1 or 2 games in November (1 home - 1 away, usually friendlies but occasionally competitive internationals)

So the only occasion where there could be a potential clash would be one game in October and occasionally 1 game in November. The NFL could just have an away game on those dates.

I don't forsee any problems

american football is a dead sport.

hyped too much especially the superbowl where it was actually proven somewhere that the Champions leage final got more ratings/hits then the superbowl.

What really ticks me off about Brits starting to watch American Football is that there are far more interesting sports in the country very similar to American Football that doesn't contain so many adverts and breaks, and are dying - Rugby.

Both codes of Rugby needs more supporters and more people need to try it out. Granted, a lot of the blame should be put at the feet of the professional bodies who don't do enough to promote the game.

I really feel like people watch the NFL in the UK just because it's "cool" to do so.

You get ticked off because people enjoy a sport? I'm sorry but that is one of the more ridiculous things I've read recently.

I've watched plenty of rugby (mainly union as I get very bored of watching rugby league quickly) and don't find it half as entertaining as american football, that said I can somewhat enjoy it when Ireland or Ulster are doing well but only a casual interest. Once you become accustomed to the adverts and stoppages NFL is great, hard to watch on your own at times if you're just sitting on the sofa though.

Also red zone is unbelievably good, wish they'd cut out the 3pm blackouts or at least a US channel did a version of it for football we could stream of all the great plays during the 3pm kick offs and as Moses pointed out above, the value in gamepass is outstanding.

I've also got 3 other people into it, having all purchased gamepass and pretty much watching it all sunday night, don't think they're doing it 'because its cool'

Top post, you managed to spell nearly every word right too
