We have team threads, Transfer thread is a generic United thread, Banter thread is the (anti) LFC thread, match day thread is Arsenal fans /wrists thread.
It was an interesting thread hence why I made this thread.
Stuff like that is why the football section isn't as busy as it should be. Decent discussions are just cut down in their prime and then it's all quiet again.
I think we should trial official club threads then and if the forum suffers then remove them. A lot of new folk are here now and it might be different.
I don't want to have to go to Football365 as it's mostly full of morons but that works fine with official threads.
People need to get in the habit of opening new threads for different matters, leaving the small stuff in the official threads and mods not closing threads needlessly left right and centre cutting conversation short.
+ RTM any nobheads who try to be funny in other club threads.
Why can Motors have official threads (Renaultsport thread), Games have official game threads etc yet Football can't have official team threads. It's ridiculous.
I assume the rule was brought in to stop Sports Arena being littered with "Official *Insert club name here* threads". Now that Football has it's own forum this isn't an issue.
Personally I think the mods could just leave this section alone apart from closing duplicate threads. Only pop in to nuke the occasional troll which will no doubt be RTM'd.
Keep things as they are then but don't lock threads where there is an existing and interesting conversation going. (The Wenger thread) That isn't helping anyone.
So what if it turns into an Arsenal thread. As long as it's interesting then so be it.
