decided to go with global for a set of knifes.

i think im going to get :

GSF-49 11cm utility knife
G2 cooks knife
G9 bread knife

would also like a paring knife but they 3 alone are £315. or should i get a paring knife over the utility?

and anyone know cheapest place to buy them?

thanks.

im guessing you have tried them as they are excellent knives (i have a set myself) but they handles aint for everyone.

I have a set of Global and Shun Knives and find both excellent knives with perfect blades, globals are surving better though as my wife decided to put my Shuns through the dishwasher so the handles have discoulered a bit :(... see if you can locate a localish dealer that you can try some out at its worth it as they will last you a lifetime.

My brother got me a GS52.

It's my first proper knife and its insanely sharp! It's also 'flexible' too, you can bend it to worrying angles and it returns to form.

Just a piece of advice:

Global knives are sharpened in a traditional Japanese way, which is 11 degrees or so. This means you must use a recommended sharpener from Global, as other sharpeners can damage the knife due to a different sharpening angle.
