its the west midlands derby this sunday lunchtime ( birmingham City vs Aston Villa) as u football fans know derby games are a completely diffrent kettle of fish then other league games. so who do u guys and girl think will win ?

as a blues fan of course i want them to win and also we are desperate 4 those 3 points to get us out of the relegration battle. the match will be at villa park so that will add extra difficulties but as villa won at st andrews at the beginning of the season i think its our chance to make up 4 that.

anyways just wanna know what u lot think
be kind !!!!!!!!!!!!

Villa 2-0 Blues.

I think we are too strong for them right throughout the side.

I expect Big John to cause Ridgewell problems all game.

Would love to see Marlon squeeze more of a game than his usual 10 min cameo.

Really, we should be stuffing the blues. I feel bad saying this as a Villa fan, but from some of the stuff i've seem them play this year, they deserve to stay up. I've predicted a Birmingham win in the prediction league, because every time I pick villa to win, we lose!

Brum have got a lot of injuries to key players, and if Gabby and co are on their game, we could win by 3 or 4, and we've scored 10 in our last 2 against relegation-threatened sides.

el_dazza - they do look perhaps too good to go down, but we have to fancy a decent win vs Small Heath, and if we nick a win at Everton, 5th is a real possibility, as they still have to go Arsenal.

It could be deemed as being in our hands, as long as Pompey fail to win all their games left.

Well there's no doubt Villa have got a stronger squad but anything can happen in these matches. I'm just hoping Mcsheffery doesn't start. If we don't bottle it early on it should be a good game.

I'm a Villa fan but would like to see the Blues stay up, as it keeps the derby which is good for both clubs with the stadium at full capacity.
Think Villa will win though as a lot of goals have been scored by us of late.

Despite the last 2 games, I fear we don't have the consistency to warrant hoping for that UEFA spot. Last time I hoped we could seriously close in on Everton, we bottled it against Middlesborough, Pompey and Sunderland. That said, not sure why commentators on MOTD last week totally dismissed the issue of 5th by saying we're in a mini-league for the inter-toto :/ Can't get to the game and pretty gutted it's not on TV.

I'm hoping Birmingham take the points here. We need Villa to drop as many points as possible if we want to keep our dream of Europe alive.

Just a quick point for a few of the non-regulars:

You may want to post in the spoilers thread during and directly after the game tomorrow.

Amazing game and atmosphere today....some of the blues fans must have gone to the ground in the night though as walking up to the holte end was some graffiti such as "SOTV" and "BCFC" on the wall. Never mind though as we had the last laugh.

Heres a couple of pics from today:

Notice how the away part of the ground had emptied (and this was with 15/20 mins still to go lol)
