Western Digital Routers any good?

There seems to be almost no mention of these routers on here but I wondered if anyone had any experience of them.

I must admit to being a bit of a WD fan boy and their routers seem to tick the right boxes and can be found cheap enough.

I guess that's a no then? :D

I was particularly looking at the My Net N900. The usual simultaneous dual band wireless stuff but it includes 7 gigabit ports which I thought might be handy and tidier than adding an extra switch as I add more devices (it won't be too long before my lad is old enough to start hogging my bandwidth!). Their kinda smart QoS stuff sounded interesting too - automatically giving priority to media streams etc - but I guess I can do that manually.

I'll probably end up going back to my original plan of an Asus 56U or 66U and add a switch down the line when I need it. I plan to move everything into a cupboard anyway so won't suffer the wrath of SWMBO too much. Hopefully.

From what i've read they need regular reboots as they drop signal.

Shame though, would be really good kit otherwise, I can do without going back and forth the router to reboot it though personally.

Recent good discounts on these probably reflect the quality of them, as spec-wise they are similar to the asus rt-n56u

Cheers.

It's going to be hidden away a bit so having to reboot it is no good for me. I'll be better off sticking to something that's known to be good when I get around to it.
