Hi, just bought one of these drives, & i have a couple of problems.
We have Windows 7 home premium 64bit.
First problem, we can view all the data on the wd, on other pcs, wireless & wired, so they are all on the network, but when i try to view music pictures etc, on the xbox 360 it says no data, although the wd shows up on the xbox 360.

Second problem, WD anywhere back up has backed up my data o.k, but when i try view & restore, it says cannot run under this version of windows.
Any one know a way of getting around this, or should i send the drive back for a refund.

What NAS drive can you reccomend (not memeo back up) or do you think i am better off with a Windows server, like the Asus mini ts.

The Xbox 360 just acts as a media extender and I believe you need to have your music/video library shared in Windows Media Player or Windows Media Center with the 360 allowed as a device in them. Once you do this you'll be able to see the music and videos etc (i think lol)

Thanks, i have given all permissions & no joy.
Reading a lot of posts on the WD forums, it seems a lot of people are having trouble with this drive, the softeware, seems to be mostly the problem.
I have now sent it back to Amazon for a refund, i bought it because i like there hard drives.
Anyway i am now researching Windows based servers, like ACER easystore, HP mediasmart, ASUS mini.
