Weston's Scrumpy Cider

I think I've had Westons and it was pretty nice!

Cornish Rattler is what you want though.

Tesco Value cider is the best. It's honestly no worse than Strongbow!

Strongbow has nothing to do with apples.

I can vouch for Sainsburys own label 'Strong English Cider', though.

£3.49 for 3 litres and it is made by Thatchers. Much better and a hell of a lot cheaper than Strongbow.

Old Rosie is where it's at!!

Thats another one made by Thatchers IIRC. They have a very good range, but the draught will always win.

LOL @ The Strongbow etc - As a Somerset boy it disgusts me that these drinks like Strongbow, Woodpecker, Magners etc are allowed to be called cider when they clearly are not.

Cornish Rattler cyder (since cornish is different) is OK, but not sure how I would categorise it. The Vintage stuff that Healey's make however - very nice.

I have no idea what the appeal is in farmy cider. It's like you've drained out the juice from a bale of wet hay thats been rotting on the back of a tractor's trailer for a year. It smells like poo, it tastes like poo.

It's poo in a glass.

There's a massive difference between rough cider (farmy) and things like westons organic, sheppys and the like, which aren't even comparable.

White Lightning is where its at. 3Ltr bottle of that and 10 super kings over the swings then trying to get hold of a 14 year old and cop a feel of her jubilees.....

woah i was 14 too, dont panic.!

Old Rosie is where it's at!!

Is this the ~9% stuff? If so, i remember getting very very drunk when a pub had this in. I didn't realise it was double the strength of beer, so i was drinking a pint of this cider for every pint of lager my mates were drinking. OH MY! 4 and a half pints in and i'm slurring my words and stumbling about. I went out the pub and just threw up into the main high street, next thing i remember and i'm waking up at 9 in the morning on the kitchen floor with a banging headache. Not my finest hour lmao. I just thank the lord i didn't wake up with a sore arse.

If you're ever nearby, head to the New Forest Cider farm in Burly (New Forest, obviously), best Cider I've ever tasted, followed closely by some mysterious brew I bought near the Chedder Caves.

If you ever see more than a few of those scrumpy bottles on the shelf, notice how they can be radically different colours,,,

Same with Old Rosie, I drink it any where that has it, but the strength between batches can be insane! Got very merry off one pint before! And can get the worst headaches the next day, proper made in the bathtub style!
