The heater resistor pack on the wifes car packed up last week, so i swapped out the pack from the spare car, which also doubles as a shed right now, nice dry storage :) The resistor pack on the 306 is actually in the inlet to the blower motor, meaning that when the fan is on, it's keeping itself cool, nice design (for a french car)

I was in a rush to get the car going again so i didn't bother putting the covers and panels back onto the old car.

And then it rained. Lots.

The rain runs off the roof, down the windscreen then over the wiperblade panel into watertrap in the engine bay and out of a hole into the wheel arch.

However if some idiot doesn't replace the wiperblade panel and the plastic cover under that, and they leave the debris mesh off too, the rainwater just runs off the windscreen, through the gapping hole in the chassis and straight into the car.

I have a 4 inch deep puddle in my passenger footwell, i'm pretty sure it's not from the heater matrix :) Oops.

I'll learn, one day.

it'll dry out eventually mate. Might be useful info for me this, as my peugeot partner has a slight leak into the passenger footwell. Hmm ty for that lol.

Lift your carpet and fill the gap with newspaper ala wet trainers - it'll take a while in this weather but it'll dry eventually :D

A lot of motors leak through that gully, Escorts being one of them. Why they make the flow that way without a drain I do not know. Personally i get my drill out & drill the ******.
Bit different on my jeep as that has no carpets & two massive drain plugs. I love it when the water comes in swills about then pours out the back when you climb out the hole/trench whatever.

Seems to be getting there :)

That happened to my 205 when I parked it at a funny angle... Passenger footwell may as well had fish swimming around in it. :D I used a bagless vacuum cleaner to suck out all the water, then let the sun completely dry the carpet...

I have a feeling I have a leak near the tailgate tho, as my rear window is often steamed up after it rains... :(

Syphon/cup/bucket it out! Can't leave the water standing like that it will never dry

Cup out what you can, then towel dry it as best as you can.

Your going to want a moisture absorber of some kind in there (get them from Wilco's in big packs for around £2-£3).

Once its dried out, get the carpet cleaned with a good cleaner (vanish, or the auto Glym interior shampoo stuff is great) then spray it with a deodoriser.

lol.. that is a lot of water.. cup it out.

it is funny when you're wading in a land rover/jeep/zuki and the water is up to your neck.. then you drive out and it all just leaks through the holes in the body.. that's why early land rovers suffered what jeremy clarkson would call "poor body build quality"

my old SIII SWB drains pretty damn quickly i can tell you.. the seats are nasty for a while afterwards though :(
