...Songs that make your lip wobble.

Tool - H.

And the snake is drowned and
As I look in his eyes,
My fear begins to fade
Recalling all of those times
I could have cried then.
I should have cried then.

And as the walls come down and
As I look in your eyes
My fear begins to fade
Recalling all of the times
I have died
and will die.
It's all right.
I don't mind.

earthtone9 - Amnesia.

I would walk, to remember, to forget.
To remember, to forget.
What do I have to offer you?

The offer is not empty; the glass is so full.
I wish that i could show you proof.

I know that you are a gift to me.
I know that you are a gift to me.
I will lay where i fall, little matters anymore.
No need to fight the tide, all that i need is inside.

I would wait, to remember, to forget.
To remember, to forget.
I feel the suns warmth on my face.

Like the most beautiful flower, you are lifes gift to me.

I know that you are a gift to me.
I know that you are a gift to me.

I will lay where i fall, little matters anymore.
No need to fight the tide, all that i need is inside

Easyworld - A Stain To Never Fade.

You'll always be to me
A stain to never fade
The worst mistake I've made
A blemish on an otherwise detestable career
A studied insincere

But I'll always be to you
A record overplayed
The rain on your parade

Will you never look at me
And see beautiful again
I would I were the same
But I look for always...

I don't want to understand
To make it go away
Or hush myself when I just want to say
Will you never be to me
A surface kind of friend
I do believe that this is not the end
It's not the end

I'll always be to you
A stain to never fade
The worst mistake you've made
An episode to file under "never try again"
I would I were the same

But I want to be your adrenaline
The redness across your chest
Oh lover I confess
Though you'll always be to me
A stain to never fade
I'd do it all again
Because I look for always...

And still I stand with the persistence of an idiot
Still I stand will I say...
Hell, I do believe that this is not the end

Most of those are situation-specific...

Films that make you greet? What the hell?

I'm guessing lip wobble means you want sad songs? I don't know.

Bright Eyes - No Lies, Just Love is one of my favourites at the moment:

So please forgive what I have done, no you can't stay mad at the setting sun, cause we all get tired, I mean eventually, there is nothing left to do but sleep.

Plus I'm loving the whole of the Dear And The Headlights album: Small Steps, Heavy Hooves.

Oh and that breakdown in the Tool song:

And as the walls come down and
As I look in your eyes
My fear begins to fade
Recalling all of the times
I have died
and will die.
It's all right.
I don't mind.

When it says that, I always get a shiver down my spine. One of my favourite Tool songs.

A stain to never fade is a fantastic song, very moving. I think mine would have to be Picture of My Life by Jamiroquai:

I never had a dream that I could follow through
Only tears left to stain, dry my eyes once again
I don't know who I am, or what I'm gonna do
Been so long I've been hopelessly confused
This can never really end, its infinitely sad
Can someone tell me when
Something good became so bad
So if you have a cure
To me would you please send
A picture of my life
With a letter telling how
it should really be instead

The precipice is there
But will I ever dare
Throw myself in the sky, so at last I can die
See I've become a man
Who holds nothing too dear
Who will mind if I just disappear
This can never really end, it's infinitely sad
Can someone tell me when
Something good became so bad
So if you have a cure
To me would you please send
A picture of my life
With a letter telling how
it should really be instead

Nice to see some other Easyworld fans :D I was gutted when they split up as I'd never got to see them live.

10,000 Days always makes me shiver too

Damien rice - Grey Room, when it came in on the episode of House with the rape victim. His only good song imo.
Have I still got you to be my open door
Have I still got you to be my sandy shore
Have I still got you to cross my bridge in this storm
Have I still got you to keep me warm

Death Cab for Cutie - I will follow you into the dark. Hate the band, but this is really good.

Love of mine some day you will die
But I'll be close behind
I'll follow you into the dark

No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white
Just our hands clasped so tight
Waiting for the hint of a spark
If heaven and hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark.

Beautiful song.

Can't really think of any at the moment but every time i go back to listening to Thrice i think to myself how damn good the lyrics are. I'm not one for getting hung up on lyrics but some of them really hit you.

"The Artist In The Ambulance"

Late night, brakes lock, hear the tires squeal
Red light, can't stop so I spin the wheel
My world goes black before I feel an angel lift me up
And I open bloodshot eyes into fluorescent white
They flip the siren, hit the lights, close the doors and I am gone

Now I lay here owing my life to a stranger
And I realize that empty words are not enough
I'm left here with the question of just
What have I to show except the promises I never kept?
I lie here shaking on this bed, under the weight of my regrets

[Chorus:]
I hope that I will never let you down
I know that this can be more than just flashing lights and sound

Look around and you'll see that at times it feels like no one really cares
It gets me down but I'm still gonna try to do what's right, I know that there's
A difference between sleight of hand, and giving everything you have
There's a line drawn in the sand, I'm working up the will to cross it and

[Chorus]

Rhetoric can't raise the dead
I'm sick of always talking when there's no change
Rhetoric can't raise the dead
I'm sick of empty words, let's lead and not follow

Late night, brakes lock, hear the tires squeal
Red light, can't stop so I spin the wheel
My world goes black before I feel an angel steal me from the
Greedy jaws of death and chance, and pull me in with steady hands
They've given me a second chance, the artist in the ambulance

[Chorus]

Can we pick you off the ground, more than flashing lights and sound

It's slang for cry.

Oh... the "films that make you grēote"... The "internet english" spelling rules are getting weirder every year.... :D

For me it'd be the Guillemots song "If The World Ends":

"I just about managed to forget you,
when you appeared in a dream;
And you're even more beautiful there,
than I remember you being.
So I've come to decide,
fate is telling me you won't go.
And considering this,
I want you to know;

If the world ends,
I hope you're here with me.
I think we could laugh just enough,
to not die in pain.
And if the world ends,
it won't finish you;
You're not the type they can capture,
you flit like a fly catcher.
They can't pin you down;
can't pin you down.

So if the world ends,
I hope you're by my side.
I don't think with you here,
it would be too much pain.
And when you cry,
darling i wish you'd feel my love.
Your heart is way beyond capture,
flit like a fly catcher.
They can't pin you down,
no, they can't pin you down."

It's got a kind of dreamy feel to it, beautiful song. I would've posted a Damien Rice song but apparantly the audience here isn't too warmed to Mr Rice judging from above posts :p

Tom Waits - Train Song. Gets me every time. I wrote my dissertation about the lyrics of 'Franks Wild Years' (in 32 hours), and I spent more time listening to this and thinking random crap than I actually did working.

Well I broke down in East. St. Louis,
On the Kansas City line.
And I drunk up all my money
that I borrowed every time.
And I fell down at the derby
and now the night's black as a crow.
It was a train that took me away from here
but a train can't bring me home
What made my dreams so hollow
was standing at the depot
with a steeple full of swallows
that could never ring the bell.
And I come ten thousand miles away,
with not one thing to show.
well it was a train that took me away from here
but a train can't bring me home
I remember when I left,
without bothering to pack.
You know I up and left, with
just the clothes I had on my back.
Now I'm sorry for what I've done,
and I'm out here on my own.
well it was a train that took me away from
here but a train can't bring me home.

Doesn't quite work so well without the most recognizable and heartfelt voice going, but they still read quite nicely.

Tool
Pushit

Staring down the hole again.
Hands are on my back again.
Survival is my only friend.

Terrified of what may come.
Yeah. Remember I will always love you,

as I claw your ****ing throat away.
It will end no other way.

Live
Lightning Crashes

Lightning crashes, a new mother cries
This moment shes been waiting for
The angel opens her eyes
Pale blue colored iris, presents the circle
And puts the glory out to hide, hide

Oh now feel it comin back again
Like a rollin thunder chasing the wind
Forces pullin from the center of the earth again
I can feel it.

Sufjan Stevens
For The Widows In Paradise; For The Fatherless In Ypsilanti

I have called you children, I have called you son.
What is there to answer if I'm the only one?
Morning comes in Paradise, morning comes in light.
Still I must obey, still I must invite.
If there's anything to say, if there's anything to do,
If there's any other way, I'll do anything for you.

I was dressed embarrassment.
I was dressed in wine.
If you had a part of me, will you take you're time?
Even if I come back, even if I die
Is there some idea to replace my life?
Like a father to impress;
Like a mother's mourning dress,
If you ever make a mess, I'll do anything for you

I have called you preacher; I have called you son.
If you have a father or if you haven't one,
I'll do anything for you. I did everything for you

Tool
Vicarious

I need to watch things die... from a good safe distance
Vicariously I live while the whole world dies
You all feel the same, so...

Why can't we just admit it?

Blood like rain falling down
Drawn by the brave and proud

Part vampire
Part warrior
Carnivorous Voyuer
Stare at the transmitter
Sing to the death rattle

La, la, la, la, la, la-la-lie (x4)

Credulous at best
Your desire to believe in
Angels in the hearts of men
But pull your head on out
you hippies and give a listen
Shouldn't have to say it all again

The universe is hostile, so impersonal
Devour to survive... so it is, so it's always been

We all feed on tragedy
It's like blood to a vampire

Vicariously I live while the whole world dies
Much better you than I

(I listen to this song when I need 'encouragement')

I quite like "Here without you" by 3 Doors Down song, or

"Fade to black"- Metallica
"Hurt"- Johnny cash version
"The burning red"- Machine Head
"Bother"- Stone sour
Etc
