Hi folks,

Migrating to my garden room for work soon - I have a Dell S2721DGFA in the house which I bought just prior to lock down. It seems OK but I am quickly getting used to the size and res. Upstairs I have an LG upstairs, also 27" but it is entirely through USB-C.

At work we have Dells' with built in Webcams etc.

I am not sure I'll ever "game" down there, so looking for the best productivity monitor. What are your experiences? Did you stick out with 27 or go bigger? Is integrated webcam worth it? Ideally a single cable should charge etc.

Thanks!

Define productivity? Are we talking spreadsheets or photoshop etc?

What's your budget?

If you need a webcam for meetings etc I'd highly recommend getting one separate rather than built in.
Spreadsheet/email - I spend maybe 7 or 8 of a 11/12 hour day on Teams calls.

Budget - I don't want to spend more than....£600. But I equally don't want to be chasing that budget.

I think I agree w.r.t camera; it isn't a major requirement, just nifty!

When I do that sort of work I prefer a multi-monitor setup, usually two screens on an arm with one horizontal for the sheets and the other.

A bit like this:

That aside, 1-2 of these depending on your preference would be grand:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £138.95 (includes delivery: £0.00)
I think I'd like to give that style a go! I really one single cable though as I work from a laptop. That is a bargain though it seems!

I think there's ways to do it, but I'm not super clued up on visual from USB. Your laptop should have at least one HDMI port though, I'd need to see the exact model/specs to advise further.

Honestly, I've worked the sort of things you've mentioned and that secondary screen for excel etc is an absolute godsend in that position.
Yeah I have a CableMatters box of tricks at the minute that lets me Dell plug in with a single USB-C; but it is definitely more clunky than the LG native interface. I would prefer a monitor with full USB-C.
