WH40K-DOW II - Game Saves?

Ah, Vista just pooed itself, and I used the change to swap the HD over anyway, but I have lost my DOW2 position in the Game.

This is really getting on my **** cos Im level 21 and I have just killed off the hive mind with Angelos from the littany of fury, so fairl;y well into it now.

I was thinking that the internet junk will be storing my info etc but it seems not and that Im not hoping that the info can be recovered from my other HD

If it can, then where will it be?

Yeah, I got that folder, but it never showed up in the game.

I have had to start from fresh

I have however just had a look, and I have 2 folders in there..

I think I will try swapping the names around?

ADDITION:
No, now I had to restart again!!

Two files however are there, the Rakoon one at 86K and the FatRakoon one at 7K clearly shows more info in the 86K one, so maybe ...

I will try making a new campaign and naming a copy of the Rakoon one as that?

Anyway try a few thigns and see what happens.

Nope, I have tried and tried, but it wont accept the file

just sorted this problem but it was using the live windows offline account so not sure what is needed for online accounts

anyway you need to copy your user settings over

location

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\XLive\Content

inside here is a random gibberish numbered lettered folder, thats your games for windows live account.

then place the save file in the my documents game etc , ehich you have done

load up the game and select your profile from the windows bar and your save game should come up.

but have read that this game may corrupt save files anyway so backup.

I have got to the level that I can administer the Toxins into the hive mind but I get my rs spanked ... There is a good few OPTIONAL Levels still to do so I will go back and do those to build my crew up a bit better.

So, right now, Im about on par with what I was, but Im not going to risk ruining this position I have built myself back up to, so I will wait to see...

I might however do it on another PC... I want to see how well this game runs on some of the LAN PCs anyway so I can play it against my kids.
