Im in the market for some speakers.

I've done the 7.1,5.1 setups and to be honest,i thought it was all a bit of a over kill.,plus my misses has a hate for wires(dont they all).

So im opting for a simple 2 .1 setup. Dont want a huge whoofer either, just nice stylish looking speakers with awesome sound,I usualy play cs and doom3 also play music.

Under £150-pre fer black as go with desk and 3007

Any one have the Abit iDome D500 Pure Digital 2.1 Speaker System, look quiet nice or the Creative I-Trigue 2.1 L3800 Speakers or Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1 Speakers

Im using the onboard sound on my Evga 8680 board.

Either Acoustic Energy Aego Ms or Logitech Z2300s, I've tried both and I think the Z2300s are slightly better especially in terms of bass and volume (where they win by a lot!) People say the Aegos have slightly better sound clarity but I can't say I noticed a lot of difference.

logitech z2300's all the way!

Sub is lil big but thats not a bad thing the bass notes r so much more richer!

THe 2 sats r gorgous too without the covers!

10***!!!

Wasn't massively impressed with the Logitech's when I heard them but I think the sub was up a bit high. They will go louder and have more bass than the Aego set but i'm not sure in terms of just quality sound  .

The iDome's are interesting. Mabye someone has them and can shed more light but I would suspect they are best here. Not because of the "pure digital" which is pretty irrelevant with PC speakers, but because of the relatively large satellites. These should cover down to a lower range so that the sub doesn't end up having to cover it (which spoils the stereo effect somewhat and can leave a gap in the frequency band).
