What 2 cards to replace - 780 TI?

Consider the air flow in your case if you are going with 2 custom 290's, the MSI and Tri-X don't channel the heat out the back of the case. Another user on this forum encountered this problem today when he received his 2 MSI 290X Gaming cards. Refrence nvidia's might be better. They are supposed to be cool and quiet and they use blower fans to push the heat out of the case.

Unless you are adding them to your water-cooled build...

Thanks so far guys hah.

Yeah so the plan is im going to replace it with 2x 290's and slap some blocks on them as soon as I can.

After a couple months Ill get another 2 and another PSU and maybe external rads lol..

Which of the current 290's are suggested? I only need bare bones card really as the air cooler will come RIGHT off.

MSI slapped "Warranty void if removed" sticker on one of the screws of the 780ti gaming, I wonder if they have done this with the 290 versions?

I can't remember MSI doing this when I had a MSI 580 and previous cards of theirs.

I asked msi about this, heres the reply i got.

Dear Nick

As long as you do not physically damage anything, the warranty will not be voided

Thank you

Met vriendelijke groet,

Hold on, didn't you just get them?

What's wrong with them if you don't mind me asking? Must be something you haven't been on BF for ages...

Met vriendelijke groet,
Cheers for that, it's certainly handy to know. I guess it might be more awkward depending if going through the retailer, I think OcUK will be alright.

I did notice on the Guru 3D review that the 290 Gaming Edition didn't have the stickers on them, just the MSI 780 ti Gaming Edition looking at w3bbo's Vortez review and some other, oh well not to worry.
