As memory prices are going up which kits should I go for?

Im completely out of touch with DDR2 :p 400mhz 4-4-4-X will be more than enough. 4Ghz!! With a E6600.

Im assuming they all use the same chips? But which would be better? The Geil seems good as its warrenty covers higher voltage but who know what voltage you were using anyway? :p

Thanks guys :)

G.Skill 2GB DDR2 HZ PC2-6400

run a lot faster and more stable than the geil ones i had, got my e6700 at 3.6ghz

G.skill HZ kit.

great stuff, got a set about a month back when it was about £25 cheaper

EDIT: for those wondering about compatibility, the HZ kits do not have any of these problems, they can run at stock speeds with 1.8V fortunately, they seem to like lower voltages. It was the G.skill NR kits that had the compatibility problems.

It would be good to know which motherboard you have as some have issues with the initial boot up voltage, so if yours is one that boots with low voltage then pick some ram that boots with low volts until you change it in the BIOS.

Geil does boot with low voltage but I can't recommend it because 3 bad sets before I have a set that works is just not something I would encourage my worst enemy to buy, now I have my Geil that finally works which I had to get replaced from Geil in Taiwan I am happy with it, it works well at it's recommended settings of 4-4-4-12 @ 800mhz and a bit further looks like this set might be a good un. But it took 3 trips to OcUK @ 100 miles a go then the final postage to Taiwan all in it's cost me just under £50 in fuel and postage and over 3 weeks before I can use the PC.

I have some Corsair C4 which is very easy to get running well and clocks great, I also have some Kingston 8500 HyperX on it's way which uses ultra low voltage but is probably more than you want to spend @ £300 ish.

Hope this helps you make a good choice and an easy set up. :)

I havent actually got the setup yet, as im waiting until the end of the this month. Buying mem now as prices are going up up up :(

The G.Skill it is then! :D

However I might just get a DS3 and be done with it :D
