What 2025 titles will *need* a 5000 series gpu?

When I first started pc gaming(too many years ago) there were certain titles that needed a next gen gpu to play. I’m talking, wing commander 3, unreal tournament doom eternal, and Crysis to name a few. My 3080 is nearing 5 years old and still runs the modern stuff well at 4k with the settings near or at max.

So. What are the titles that are due out, say first half of the year that will make you upgrade?

5000 needs some games, not the other way around, is my perspective.

Stalker 2 is demanding and fits the topic, but it hasn't made me upgrade. I barely even look in the Stalker thread now, let alone buy the game. FF7 still isn't finished either and has just come to PC.

I look forward to the 5090 reviews to see what it can do, but have zero interest it buying even a 5060 or whatever.

New Doom i'm curious about, not played Eternal though, but likely won't need anything powerful if history with the engine is anything to go by.

There won't be any... My 4090 is overkill for the games in 2024 so hoping to get something that pushes it this year a bit more. ON the other hand I 'play' factorio half the time

I don't think there are any games coming to PC this year that will drive the need for grabbing a 5000 series card. Even next year is looking lean. NVIDIA is promoting Witcher 4 as the next "halo" title to showcase their GPUs but that probably won't launch until 2027/28 at the earliest. Of course, many people are looking forward to GTA 6, but there isn't an official launch date yet for PC, and it may not even hit consoles until 2026.
