I want to replace my current Samsung 2233BW because it doesn't have any height or tilt adjustment, making it unsuitable for my current desk. Terrible monitor design really.

It's a shame as everything now seems to be 1920x1200, or worse yet 1920x1080.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a 22" monitor upto £200?

Hi there,
It's a shame as everything now seems to be 1920x1200, or worse yet 1920x1080.

Yea, it is a bit of a shame that 1080p has now become the de-facto standard resolution for consumer monitors, but 1920x1200 isn't bad - certainly around this size range.

As for what monitor to got for, unfortunately you will have to go with a 1080p 22in unless you are willing to pay £250+ for a 1920x1200 24in E-IPS or go down to a 1680x1050. May I ask what your planned usage is?

Based just on budget and stand requirements I would recommend the Dell U2212HM or the U2312HM for only a bit more money. Both of these monitors use a 1080p E-IPS type panel and have very nice adjustable stands.

1080p is still a great resolution. I went from 1024x768 > 1680x1050 > 1920x1080p and difference is amazing.

I enjoy gaming at 'Full HD' now :D

You have to remember that most graphics cards still don't have enough firepower to run games at 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 resolutions on high or ultra settings with good framerates hence nice gameplay.

The latter kind of resolutions are niche atm plus you are getting almost double the amount of pixels compared to 1080p which will be a big stressful work for any graphics card plus requiring more vram.;)

I'm fine with 1680x1050, that's what I have now and it seems like the perfect resolution for the size, the problem with the 1920 displays is the reduction in framerate when gaming.

I use my pc for a mix of things really, gaming, artwork, animation, and just general stuff like documents and web browsing.
