reason im going to buy some more ram:im getting wobbles in certain part of doom3 and quake 4,i know my system can run games like that with 1gig so im thinking it might be a conflit issue... dont know so what do you suggest still go with geil or another make

and which model

specs
Asus A8N-SLI Premium
AMD 3700 processor
ATI HIS x1950pro
1gig geil ram

ive had the 1gb ram for 2years and its allways been the same playing quake and doom

Geil value 2Gb kit for under £120, can't go wrong really.

Now you have a nice graphics card and are playing games at higher resolutions with fancy effects - 2gb RAM is in order.

If the memory timings are on Auto (which they probably are if you aren't overclocking) then you shouldn't need to do anything, just swap the memory and run the system. If you've changed the memory speed/timings then set them back to Auto before changing the memory over, then it should run fine. In either case, a CMOS reset should not be needed.

I'm always tempted to run memtest86 for a while to check that the system is OK with the new memory before booting the operating system, but I'm over cautious!

Hope this helps,

Martin
