One of my hdd's is dieing I think and I wana replace it with a 500er.
Wich one should I go for:

7200.11 ?
Caviar SE AAKS ?
TK500?

I want:
A nice price.
Reliability ( obviously).
Low seek noise.
Performance.
Warranty

I do not care about:
Spin noise.
Heat.
Used/new

The 7200.11 is the quicker of the three but the WD is a bit cheaper and not much slower. The Hitachi is getting a bit long in the tooth now so I'd go for one of the others.

Okay I noticed in another thread the 7200.11 has a low burst, this is kind of poor as with 32mb cache I'd expect it to load from the cache nice and fast... I know it's still below the average read but what's the point of cache in that case ? Is this an exception or are all of them like this ?

Do either the 7200.11 or AAKS have any (other) issues ?
I don't mind paying a bit more, Vista will come onto it so I'll need as much speed as possible even if it's just a tiny improvement...

Well my dad just bought me an AAKS 500 GB, finally I can have my 160 GB back ( dieing hdd, had to remove it from pc b4 its completly dead ) and 340 gb of new space.

Hope cloning the 160 onto the 500 goes okay, and after that I'll have my Vista back working ( it's on the borked disc lols ).

Will post an HD-Tach benchy perhaps for you guys when it's in.
