as title says dont mind what bands. max budget is about £490

my screens res is 2560*1440

and dont really want to get ati as i hear with to screens they dont lower clock speeds when browsing web. but if im wrong might change my mind

So u have 2 screens @ 2560x1440 ? Nvidia cards also have an issue where they will not downclock to 2D clocks if u are running 2 screens, u can force this with tweaks however.
if u choose Nvidia then i would suggest the reference Evga 3Gb 580.

i have one screen at 2560*1440 and at tv at 1080

would i not be better getting one with a better cooler as i will never water cool
so wouldent need reffrence board

and i will google the tweaks

a lot depends on ur case airflow as a lot of thoes cards with supposedly better coolers do need very good case airflow or u will probably see worse temps as most of the used hot air is blown out into the case and not out the back of it like with reference cards, the Msi 3Gb lightning is one of the better cards with a non reference cooler.

Best performance: EVGA GTX580 Classified 3GB
Good choice for sandwich SLI: EVGA GTX580 reference 3GB
Good choice for 2-way SLI with space between cards: MSI Lightning Xtreme 3GB

the classified is nice even tho its over budget but it dosent have hdmi port on it.

lightnings there is no stock of them any were and dosent seem to have been any for a while.

so looks like its gona be reference card
