I've got an "amd anthlonx64 4600" cpu.
And I know that if I get the most expensive card my cpu won't be able to take advantage of this.
So with that in mind what is the best 8800gtx to go for. No point in paying extra for performance I won't notice. :D

What's the rest of your spec? With an AMD 4600+ driving the brains of the rig, I would just go for an 8800GTS and put the savings into something else that might need upgrading (RAM for example, if you only have 1GB. If you have 2GB then I'm sure you can find something to splash out on. :D)

Depends what resolution you play at. If you have a 24" monitor or larger then the resolution will be 1920x1200+! At those sizes games become pretty much GPU dependant. Only lower res's, from what i see, are impacted by slower processors!

If you want a GTX then go for it! If you only play at res's around 1600x1200 and below then the GTS will be more than sufficient! :)

thanks, for the info.
Was going to get a dell 24" monitor.

Don't the more expensive cards come with more features or are they just not worth the extra money?

Normally you'll either get a better or longer warranty - evga and BFG offer some of the best!

Or you get a nice bundle - with games and other stuff! BFG give you stickers to put on your 8800's for example!

Other than that the cards are basically identical!
