There wont be another console like the dreamcast. Best console i have had by far. Dont think there is a console with as many great games as it had. To name a few

Powerstone 1+2
Sonic adventure
Shenmue
Crazt Taxi
Grandia 2
Soul Calibur
Skies of Arcadia
Jet Grind Radio
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 the best by far
Phantasy Star Online
Space Channel 5
Daytona USA
virtua tennis 1+2

I have very high hopes for the Wii, the type of games being released for it mean it appeals to me a lot.

I prefer the quick pick up and play games, anything that is more complicated than a platformer I usually prefer to play at my PC.

were there any 2d arcade style shoot em ups i cant remember any
also what were the best platform games

i suppose each to their own because i picked all but 2 of them they are doing a deal £2.50 each . must admit though not a lot of choice but for £2.50 who cares cheers goatboy for the heads up they look decent shooters i just love 2d shooters

cheers

Japanese saturn is the best for that but the games aren't cheap.

Giga Wing for dreamcast is decent and should be dirt cheap

I know the feeling, I have 2 dreamcasts sitting in the shed lacking a working controller but there's several games there which I picked up cheap but haven't played properly including Virtua Tennis 2, Jet Set Radio, Metropolis Street Racer, Sega Bass Fishing. With a VGA box you're not a million miles away from current gen graphics and all the games are under a fiver.

I had PS2/Xbox/Gamecube at various times, none of them came close to the joy of a dreamcast: Shenmue, Toy Racer (online), crazy taxi, house of the dead, virtua tennis, soul calibur, great stuff matched only by my SNES I got on launch day.

Try to get hold of the sepearate Bleem discs for metal gear solid, gran turismo 2 and tekken 3 they are perfectly emulated on the DC ;)
