sooo got everything for new loop in new case got it all set up. Leak test showed a drop at bottom of res. so i took fitting off reattached it and it still leaked so i turned it one more time and boom sheared thread off the port  looks like i have to wait for another res now :( but at least i can use old one until it arrives. Anyone know if super glue it good enough to seal a res port with a cap? :D i am seriously temped to try and seal the sheared one and connect it to another port. It looked so good for the ohh 5 minutes before everything became a world of blue (that is my water colour)

Super glue would attach/seal the cap short term but I have no idea how long the glue would hold long term, if your res has a removable front like a lot do you can simply remove it and glue the cap to the inside of that port, that way the weight of the liquid is helping keep it sealed instead of trying to push it off.

Another option would be to wrap teflon plumbing tape around the thread of the fitting to fill out the space but if the thread is totally stripped and the port is now a smooth cylinder that will not be enough.
