I was really struggling to clock my new Q6600 with my Gigabyte P65 DS3. I could just get it to 3Ghz.
I bought a P35DS3R, slotted in the chip et voila.
Here's some more info on impact of O/C the Q6600 to 3.42Ghz
I've run some tests at stock 2.4, 3.0 and 3.42
Tests included at rest temps and full load on all four cores using SETI@HOME
I also ran Super Pi 1.5 to see what impact the clocking would have on calculation times.
Here goes - I'll need to submit the pics over a few posts due to the limit on number of pics per post
1st - My PC ( It's a work in progress, not the sexiest but it gets the job done )
2 Gb RAM , water cooled with Asetek kit and a dual 120MM fan rad.
BIOS Settings 3.0
BIOS Settings 3.42
